Our Director

Kimberly Towns absolutely loves children, and she views them as gifts and treasures. She has an authentic passion for nurturing, teaching, and empowering children.

The desire to teach and the love for children began early in Mrs. Towns’ life. She would envision it, dream about it, and even write about it until she was old enough to pursue her passion and dream.

She attended Virginia Commonwealth University where she earned a Bachelor of Arts and Master of Teaching.  From there, she taught students in Virginia’s public schools for over 20 years. She quickly became a family favorite and naturally developed meaningful relationships with her students.

Mrs. Towns has earned numerous awards for her impact on education and the students and families that she served.

Now, she welcomes and embraces a new phase of joy as the founder and director of the Gathering Place For Kids.
